Will Writing & Critical Thinking WCT 1001: Introduction to Will Writing This course will lay down the foundations on how participants can distribute their assets following death. Participants would be briefly introduced to the specific laws governing death and would also be taught how to draft their own wills under the supervision of our legal experts.
Funeral Planning Enlightenment FPE 1001: Confluence: Where East Meets West This course seeks to give you a complete and concise insight to the funeral customs practiced by the East and the West. At the end of this course, participants would be equipped with the knowledge of the various customs practiced by the East and West. This would enable participants to choose a custom that they strongly identify themselves with. In addition, participants, especially those from a mixed heritage, are also encouraged to experiment and formulate their own 'hybrid' or 'fusion' customs.
FPE 1002: Funeral as an Art This interactive course seeks to explore funeral as an art form. For this course, participants would briefly learn about the various aesthetic theories. Participants would also be assigned several group projects where they will learn how to formulate their own concepts.
FPE 2001: Aesthetic Judgement: Of Rites & Rituals Prerequisite: FPE 1001 or FPE 1002 This course seeks to delve into the major topics and theories in aesthetic judgement such as the definition of 'art' and the relativism of taste. We will be then analyze various rites and rituals as an artform. Hopefully this would enable participants to form their own aesthetic judgements and aid them in conceptualizing their ideal funeral procession.
FPE 2002: Aesthetic Judgement: Of Murals & Tombstones Prerequisite: FPE 1001 or FPE 1002 This course seeks to delve into the major topics and theories in aesthetic judgement such as the definition of 'art' and the relativism of taste. We will be then analyze various murals and tombstones as an artform. Hopefully this would enable participants to form their own aesthetic judgements and aid them in conceptualizing their ideal funeral procession. FPE 2003: Introduction to Religious Studies In this course, participants would be tested and pushed to their boundaries as they will encounter religious practices that they may not be familiar or comfortable with. As this is a reading-intensive course, participants are reminded that they should only take up this course if they are able to dedicate a considerable amount of time. This course also includes several compulsory excursions to various religious sites within Singapore. At the end of this course, participants would be able to understand and hopefully, appreciate the different religions.
FPE 3001: On Death In this course, participants would explore the various issues surrounding death. What does it mean when someone is dead? Is death the end? Is death evil? How should the knowledge that I'm going to die affect the way I live my life?
